HD Ultra is the latest gene­ra­ti­on of spec­ta­cle lens coa­tings. It is cha­rac­te­ri­sed by a very resistant hard coa­ting, a useful Lotus coa­ting and a vir­tual­ly invi­si­ble bluish resi­du­al reflec­tion. This high-end coa­ting is the­r­e­fo­re extre­me­ly dis­creet and at the same time has very good anti­sta­tic pro­per­ties.

Less resi­du­al reflec­tion is curr­ent­ly not tech­ni­cal­ly fea­si­ble: HD Zero redu­ces this value to a mini­mum, making it skin-colou­red and the­r­e­fo­re almost invi­si­ble. Len­ses with HD Zero also have anti­sta­tic pro­per­ties. Water and grease dro­p­lets adhe­re less.

Scratch-resistant and the­r­e­fo­re more dura­ble pla­s­tic len­ses: the com­bi­na­ti­on of two dif­fe­rent hard coa­tings achie­ves a hard­ness and scratch resis­tance that can almost com­pe­te with the coa­tings of mine­ral len­ses.

The resi­du­al reflec­tion of modern anti­re­flec­ti­ve coa­tings is usual­ly green to blue. HD Ice pro­vi­des both sides of the spec­ta­cle lens with a colour­less coa­ting. This makes the reflec­tions less noti­ceable and colour-neu­tral for spec­ta­cle wea­rers and view­ers. Fur­ther­mo­re, it has anti­sta­tic advan­ta­ges.

Spec­ta­cle len­ses with HD Digi­tal reflect and absorb part of the short-wave blue radia­ti­on. This redu­ces the amount of harmful light ente­ring the eye and pre­vents pre­ma­tu­re age­ing. The back of the len­ses is super anti­re­flec­ti­ve. This pre­vents the reflec­tion of blue light from the back of the lens into the eye.

Hard coa­ting, super anti­re­flec­ti­ve coa­ting, anti­sta­tic coa­ting and a hydro­pho­bic and oleo­pho­bic coa­ting are com­bi­ned to crea­te aes­the­tic, dura­ble and incre­di­bly easy-care len­ses.
